Mucous Causing Foods

Are You Stuck? (With A Clogged Up Kid)

Chronic infections are so common it’s almost ridiculous! As a child I remember very few kids walking around constantly stuffed up and on antibiotics. Now that we are seeing the long term negative effects of antibiotics and steroids more clearly it’s important to begin understanding how our body works (whether we like it or not). Here are non medication options.

What Clogs My Kid Up?

Rarely is it the shape of the ear or sinuses to blame for infection though it definitely contributes (at least in my experience). The issue within our control is eating foods that make our mucous turn into sludge. This sludge gets stuck in our ear tubes, sinuses, and upper respiratory tract. Sludge is a perfect breeding ground for bacteria and viruses. Go ahead and take tons of meds but if we do not stop creating sludge the likelihood of chronic problems will remain.

Let’s not forget the piping system of the ear nose and throat. This system is meant to drain. If your child has a spine problem in their neck then the nerves that control the draining do not work properly. Does that sound good? NOPE! Proper function of those drain pipes is what we do at our chiropractic office better than anyone else. KEY POINT.
